Soil Management Workshop: High Tunnels, Raised Beds, Low Fuss!

Join us for an engaging morning at Walker Farm. We will learn how Walker Farm utilizes their high tunnels and hear what programs and tools are out there to manage your soils. Most excitingly we will have on the spot soil analysis for anyone who brings a soil sample!

Presented by Windham County Natural Resources Conservation District (WCNRCD), USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).

Participants will learn about high tunnel maintenance, how to manage soil health in high tunnels and funding opportunities for conservation practices.

Soil Screenings! Bring 2 cups of your soil in a sealed, plastic bag and NRCS will perform analysis to give you the heavy metal concentrations results.

This workshop is open to farmers, gardeners and food growers of all sizes. Please dress appropriately for walking and being outside in the July weather. Drinks and light snacks will be provided but we suggest bringing your own water.
